Best & worst dressed at the BAFTAS 2014

As many of you may know Sunday was BAFTA day and there was some stylish lads and lassies attending. In this post I'm going to be showing you all who I feel were the best and worst dressed this year.

Best

Baftas 2014: Best and worst dressedLupita Nyong’o
The actress looked stunning in her green Dior dress. Defiantly best dressed in my eyes.

Baftas 2014: Best and worst dressed

Samantha Barks
Les Miserables actress Samantha Barks looked beautifully elegant and classy in this Calvin Klein dress.

Baftas 2014: Best and worst dressed

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt
I love the whole matching outfits angelina and Brad are      wearing here and thing Angelina has definatly pulled off the look in her Saint Laurent tux.

Worst

Baftas 2014: Best and worst dressedLily Allen
This dress speaks for its self, I'm sorry lily but this is a no go, the huge bow adds to the awful look.

Baftas 2014: Best and worst dressedMaggie Gyllenhaal
I am defiantly not loving the high, heavily jeweled neckline of this dress, love the lace sleeves though.

Ring Haul

I recently acquired some new rings to add to my ever growing collection of them, I seriously have so many that I could probably set up a shop and sell only the rings I have right now for the rest of eternity- of course that's an exaggeration but you get it , I have a lot. I got these on the same day as I got the things that I mentioned in my beauty haul. These are the newest babies to join my finger family.

This is a midi ring but i don't like putting it on any fingers other than my pinkie

Sorry about the finger fat in this one, i decided to get a small ring instead of a medium as i thought it would fit good when i was in the shop but it doesn't :( I really do hate the way shops package rings.

Again, a midi ring i decided didn't look right on other fingers.

And that's them all! I didn't get many this time as i was trying to control myself. All these rings are from NewLook.

Until next time my lovelies

Current fashion lusts

This is a list of things fashion related that I have seen and I love but unfortunately I don't own but wish I did, hope you enjoy!

  1. Disco pants- I love the look of high waisted disco pants, they're so versatile and easy to style. You can wear them on a night out but can style them down during the day and make them a caual trouser. I particularly love the look of crop tops with them. My top pick of disco pants would be the American apparel disco pants I navy, but just like alot of people they're slightly out of my price range
  2. High waisted jeans- Like the disco pants I adore the look of high waisted bottoms with crop tops and have been after a pair of hogh waisted jeans for ages! But I can never seem to find any I like within my budget (I'm bit of a stingy shopper)
  3. Red and black checked shirt- These shirts are the definition of georgeous and I need one of these shirts, I spent a whole shopping day a few weeks ago hunting down one of these shirts but the only one I found was crazy dear.
  4. Blouses- I am always looking a blouse but when I'm shopping I never actually look at the blouses for sale for some strange reason, ultimately the reason I don't have any.
  5. Knicker shorts- I am in dire need of a pair of these to wear under skirts and dresses when I go out,to keep my dignity in place if im wearing a particularly short skirt.
  6. Brouges- Love brouges, can never find any.
  7. Knee high socks- I adore the look of these and need a pair
  8. Chunky, oversized cardigan
  9. Waterfall cardigan - you can never have enough cardigans and I need alot more tha  i have in my life.
And that's all my current fashion lusts, at least they're all the ones I can think of at the moment, if you have found anything on this list that is the definition of beautiful or know where I can get a pair of American apparel disco pants cheapish or know of anywhere that has amazing quality ones, please tell me in the comments below!

DIY body scrub

Everyone wants beautifully smooth skin, but not everyone wants to  go out and buy a body scrub that doesn't even do the job well. Are you one of those people? Or do you just love making your own products? If you are then you've come to the right place! Just like my skin care blog this tutorial is kind to skin as the ingredients are 100% natural!

What you'll need:
3 tablespoons of sea salt
3 tablespoons of olive oil
A few drops of essential oil (optional)

The steps

  1.  Put sea salt into a bowl and pour in the olive oil, (adding essential oil if you are using any). Stir ingredients together well.
  2. Apply your scrub to damp or wet skin. Rub it into you skin gently using circular motions to take off any dead skin cells.
  3. Rinse with warm water
And there you have it, baby smooth skin without having to leave the house!

I hope this is useful!

OOTD

So this is todays outfit, and admittedly my first ootd. If you like my style, please make sure to follow me, either here or on bloglovin' as there will definitely be more to come!

During the dark, dreary days of winter I like to wear something bright, I know darker shades are more suited to winter and lighter shades to spring but I can never pass up a brightly coloured jumper.
Here I am wearing an aqua coloured jumper from Exhibit and jeggings from River Island, teamed with a pair of boots, I feel like this outfit brightens up a winter day!

I added an imitation jacket from newlook to fight the chill.

And added accesories.

Ring: New look
                                                                         Chain: unknown

And that's it for my OOTD!

How to do winged eyeliner

Winged eyeliner has been a growing trend for the past few years, paired with a bold lip or simply on its own winged eyeliner creates a striking and exotic look and is my all time favourite eyeliner style, hands down, but it's the application process that can be a tricky skill to master, and that's where bloggers like I come into the picture, sharing tips and tricks for popular makeup trends.
I tend to keep my winged eyeliner subtle but at the same time obvious and that's what I will be showing you in this tutorial but by using the techniques shown you can simply make your wing as subtle or flamboyant as you wish.

Step one:

Line your eyeliner brush up with the inner part of your eye

Close your eye on the eyeliner Brush to apply eyeliner accurately.

Step two:

Draw a line from the existing line on your inner eye out towards your outer corner. You can make the line as round or straight, thick or thin as you like - experiment to see what suits your eyes the best.

Fill in any gaps between the eyeliner line and your lash line.

Step three:

Customise your wing! Make it as long or as short as you like. I typically use the length of my eyeliner brush as my wing length.

Connect the top of your wing to the main line of your eyeliner, filling in any gaps.

Step four:

Apply mascara

And voila! You have now created a winged eye! Now experiment with different wing lengths and thicknesses to find the one that suits you best!

My Cartilage Piercing Experience

I decided to make a post about something random- my first cartilage piercing, why? Because in the months leading up to getting my cartilage pierced I scoured the web for anything I could find about the piercing before I got it, and I wanted to tell would be piercing owners about my experience of getting my cartilage pierced before they commit to one themselves.

First off, I got mine pierced with a gun - something I wouldn't recommend you doing but it was half the price of getting it done with the needle and my piercer seemed to be all for the gun.
I feel like getting it done with a gun lead to the lengthy healing process I had to indure. One year, two months on my ear is still slightly sore to touch and unhealed.
The initial pain of the piercing is about a three on a one to ten scale, ten being the soreist but it stings constantly for about a day and sleeping on it is impossiable. After about two months I started to get a bump on my piercing but with a simple sea salt soak twice a day it started to go down after about a month.
The lengthy healing time and the bump were the only problems I experienced with my piercing but it was one hundred percent wort it.
For my birthday in june I am planning on getting a second just above my existing one and would tell anyone who seriously wabts the piercing and doesnt mind cleaning it everyday (this is what I did badly and is probably why its taking so long to heal) to go for it! It isn't too sore but it is beyond beautiful or at least I think so.
